kproxy is a service that allows users to use their NetID and password to access services that don't support Kerberos directly.  When logging into kproxy services, the user sees a basic authentication login dialog instead of a CU Kerberos login dialog.

Currently the service is being offered for use with WebDAV clients, but we are experimenting with other types of services.

Users should only enter their NetID and password into a basic authentication login dialog if they are sure that the site is using the kproxy gateway.  You can tell if it's the kproxy gateway by the URL.  All proxy sites are in the kproxy.cornell.edu domain and use SSL (https).  For example, https://cfprod-webdav.kproxy.cornell.edu is routed through the kproxy gateway.
